Thanks to Marlyn, Sharon, Mom, and Dad for the fantastic Christmas present. Last week a fine Leather Lazy Boy rocker recliner arrived at our house. This rounded out our nursery  collection, except that Susan talked me out of putting it in the nursery. So she and Jake have been putting the chair to great use for the last week. Jake loves being rocked to sleep in it, and Susan loves not  having to sit up in bed, hunched over Jake every time he gets hungry. Thanks guys!

So what have been the recent comings and goings of the Wilson household? Most recently, was visit from sister, Jen. She hopped in the car and drove out to Lincoln to see her first  nephew. While she was hell bent on breaking the land speed record from O’Hare to Lincoln, she was, apparently not interested in enduring Thanksgiving dinner with the Schwartz/Colson clans. Wussy. By the way, she  missed an excellent feast of turkey, stuffing, and other assorted goodies. Thanks to Sharon & Marlyn for sponsoring our fine meal.

As part of the festivities, Jen and I had the pleasure of attending the Nebraska/Colorado game on the Friday after Thanksgiving day. It was one of the best football games I’ve ever been to. Unfortunately, there were no pictures taken while at the game, so you have to take my word for it.

A word of congratulations should go out to several friends. The fall/winter marathon has ended with five amazing additions to the Wilson circles (including Jake). I’d like to extend a welcome to Cora Holt (Jean & Todd), born Oct. 9, Daria Lee (Gary & Annie), born Nov. 13(??), Payton Fettinger (Holly & Mark), born Nov. 29, and Vincent Wieser (Kevin & Dawn), born Dec. 1. All mothers and children are in excellent  health. The same might not be said about the fathers. Nice job all.

Finally, I want to also mention a great event that took place about 3 months ago now: The marriage of my friends Jamie and Amy (Epke) Stevens. I had the privilege of being a part of their wedding party. Unfortunately  the arrival of Jake kept me from fully participating in all of the festivities, but even with my limited participation, I had a lot of fun going though the rehearsal and ceremony with them. - JKW 12/11/2000
